Grey seals are native to Ireland. The estimated population is around 5,000 in Irish waters, 300,000 world-wide.

Adult males reach over 2 metres in length and can weigh over 310kg, with a life expectancy of 25 years.

Further general info on grey seals is available on the website of SEAL RESCUE IRELAND.
