Tramore – Coastal Bodies 2021
27 June @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm IST
The coastal bodies project is an arts and wellbeing initiative helmed by the artist Ciara Patricia Langan. Over the course of 3 years the project has realised over 13 Installations on the Island of Ireland with nude participation throughout each country. Having completed the Munster journey it is hoped that we can continue along through the province documenting our “new normal”.
On the 27th June 2021 at 10.00am (meeting point at GPS 52.153222, -7.112639) we will venture to the dunes of Tramore in Co. Waterford for a little walk across the beach ending with a photo shoot. We would encourage that clothing be removed near the end of the beach close to the dunes as we might encounter textiles on the first part of the beach. As usual you are asked to bring a packed lunch and your sense of adventure. After the shoot is finished we usually have a picnic.
The tour this year will have a little more focus on the flora and fauna of the places we shoot in. We practice a leave no trace policy and hope to create more awareness of the beauty with nature and how we interface with it.
As a collaborative art form it is encouraged to share suggestions of how we pose for the shots.
The photos will be posted into the coastal bodies 2021 private Facebook group. Two installations have been included in gallery shows during the lockdown and have made national and international news. Ultimately the work (photos) will be hosted sometime in the future for public viewing.
